What TableGrab does
TableGrab is a Chrome extension that extracts tables from screenshots into structured spreadsheet data. When you select a region of your screen, the image is sent to our server for processing and the extracted table is returned to you.
Data we collect
- Screenshots you send for extraction — processed in memory and immediately discarded after the result is returned. We do not store your images unless extraction fails, in which case we may temporarily retain the image for debugging (auto-deleted after 30 days).
- Usage counts — we track the number of extractions per IP address or API key for rate limiting. IP addresses are stored as one-way hashes, not in plain text.
- API keys and email — if you subscribe to Pro, we store your email and API key to manage your subscription.
- Extraction metadata — table dimensions, processing time, and extractor used. No cell contents are stored.
- Feedback — if you voluntarily rate an extraction (thumbs up/down), that rating is stored.
Data we do NOT collect
- We do not collect browsing history, location, or personal information.
- We do not read or access any webpage content beyond the screenshot you explicitly capture.
- We do not use cookies or third-party analytics trackers.
- We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
Third-party services
We use Stripe for payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data. We do not store your credit card information.
Data storage and security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Our servers are hosted on Vultr. Extraction data is processed in memory and not persisted. Usage data is stored in an encrypted volume and automatically cleaned up after 7-30 days.
Your rights
You can request deletion of any data associated with your account by emailing us. Free tier users have no stored personal data beyond hashed IP usage counts, which are automatically deleted after 7 days.
